After a buffet breakfast, drive to Sintra – Portugal’s fairytale town on the edge of Europe. On arrival, proceed on a guided tour with a visit to Palacio Nacional de Sintra. Marvel at the elements of Gothic, Mudejar, Manueline and Renaissance architecture, the wonderful azulejos (coloured glazed tiles) from the 15th and 16th Centuries in various halls and patios and in the Royal Chapel. Continue your guided tour and see the Seteais Palace – now a hotel, the town Hall, Modern Art Museum and many more interesting sights. After lunch, drive to Cascais – once a tiny fishing village and now an elegant holiday beach resort. Enjoy free time for shopping at the small shops and roadside stalls offering typical embroidery and lace, to high fashion designer products. Later, drive back to Lisbon. Park Güell park

The park is where Gaudí pioneered the technique known as 'trencadís' One of the most photographed features of the Park Güell is the colourful salamander which guards the staircase in the monumental area. This creation is also a fine example of the style of mosaic-work which Gaudí would become famous for: trencadís.

Alhambra castle

The Alhambra was a palace, a fortress and a citadel, its name originating from Arabic root meaning "red castle or vermilion", owing to the reddish tones of the walls and towers surrounding the hill of La Sabica.
